FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Answers to the questions we hear most often from freelancers and independent consultants evaluating Scepter Rendvale for their business reserves.
What exactly does Scepter Rendvale do?
Scepter Rendvale matches your business reserves to a strategy allocation based on your stated risk tolerance, time horizon, and liquidity needs. An AI-assisted process reviews your inputs and proposes an allocation across a defined set of strategies, which you can review and adjust before anything is actioned.
Who is Scepter Rendvale designed for?
Scepter Rendvale is built primarily for UK freelancers and independent consultants who hold business reserves and want a structured, risk-managed way to allocate part of those funds rather than leaving everything in cash. It is not designed for day trading or short-term speculation.
How does the matching process work?
You provide information about your risk appetite, reserve size, and how soon you may need access to funds. This information feeds into our methodology, which narrows down a shortlist of suitable strategies and risk tags (low, medium, high) for you to review before confirming an allocation.
Is my capital guaranteed or protected?
No. All strategies carry risk, and capital is at risk at all times. Past performance of any strategy is not a reliable indicator of future results. We aim to be transparent about risk levels throughout the platform rather than presenting any allocation as guaranteed or risk-free.
What is the minimum amount I need to start?
We don't publish a fixed minimum here, as it can depend on the strategy mix selected. During onboarding, you'll see any applicable minimums for each option before you confirm an allocation.
Can I change my allocation later?
Yes. Your risk profile and reserve needs can change, so you can revisit your inputs and request a re-matching at any time. Adjustments to an existing allocation are reviewed in the same way as an initial one.
How are risk levels defined?
Each strategy is tagged as low, medium, or high risk based on factors such as volatility, liquidity, and strategy complexity. These tags are a simplification intended to aid comparison and should be read alongside the fuller strategy description, not relied on alone.
Do you provide personal financial advice?
No. Scepter Rendvale provides a matching and allocation framework based on the information you supply. It is not a substitute for independent financial or tax advice, and we'd encourage you to speak with a qualified adviser about your specific circumstances before committing significant reserves.
How quickly can I access my funds?
Access timing depends on the strategy or strategies you're allocated to — some are more liquid than others. Liquidity expectations are outlined as part of each strategy's details so you can factor this into your reserve planning before confirming an allocation.
What fees are involved?
Fee structures vary by strategy and are disclosed during the allocation review step, before you confirm anything. We don't display a single blanket fee here because it depends on which strategies form part of your matched allocation.
Is Scepter Rendvale regulated?
Regulatory status and permissions, where applicable, are detailed in our terms and onboarding documentation. We'd recommend reading those sections carefully, and raising any questions with us directly, before allocating funds.
How do I get started?
You can begin by selecting "Start Optimising" from the navigation, which takes you through the risk and reserve questionnaire. From there, you'll receive a proposed allocation to review before any decision is confirmed.
